Thank for coming to The View at Bluemont

I appreciate your time spent with me so much & I wanted to share some of my tips from the almost 300 weddings I have worked the last decade in the DMV.. I am passionate about capturing love. I get the honor of seeing the couple almost the entire day & I am responsible for capturing & finding those amazing & magical moments for them. I treat all my couples with the love & attention they deserve no matter the budget.

My TOP 9 Tips

Have a planner or someone assigned for day

Having a planner might not be possible for all couples. However not having someone to lead takes away from your attention and day. While good vendors can certainly handle this sometimes the tasks needed will take away from the other reasons your hired them.

Do a first look or work in some kind of contact

Doing a first look will allow the two of you maximum time together on the day of with more room and time for you to spend at your cocktail hour. If seeing each other isn't something that feels right, you can do a first touch or exchange special gifts ahead of time or in addition to of course..

NOTIFY FAMILY INCLUDED IN FORMAL PICTURES

How big you go for family pictures is up to you. You want one giant picture of both sides with the bride and groom? Do you want more traditional portrait breakdowns? Let those family members know this will be happening & where they should wait or go before the of the wedding..

My TOP 9 Tips

Have your all details ready to go morning of

If getting a flat lay is important to you have all your specialized items for your wedding available to your photographer. This should include your flowers plus extras for styling (delivered just prior to photography arrival), family or personal mementos, both sets of rings, all personalized stationary.

Pad your timeline for stress free day

It's always best to plan for those situations you might not see coming. One of the key's to a stress free day is making sure you have ample time to enjoy the amazing day you have planned for with less stress. Some of the most memorable moments in your day are unplanned so trust the flow.

Pick vendors you can TRUST & let go of perfection

You have hired professionals for a reason- let them do what they do best! The investment in your day is important & being mindful of budgets is necessary. Trusting their expertise will allow you to be more present and in the moment on your day.

My TOP 9 Tips

Hold your first kiss for a few seconds

Be sure you hold your kiss for a few seconds to be sure your photographer captures the moment.  Walk slowly back down the aisle and soak it all in together! You are now partners for life!

Plan for a private moment together

Especially if having a first look wasn't for you. You two deserve to have these memories together to enjoy the day, be grounded together alone.

Do an outfit change or modification

I personally LOVE an outfit change during the day. It gives you options for comfort level and gives you both the possibility of having a super fun outfit to wear out after your wedding!
